Chemex Coffee Maker

Designed in 1941 by chemist and inventor Peter Schlumbohm, the design of the Chemex has not changed since. Why change such an efficient extraction method, offering a sweet and aromatic drink?

The iconic Chemex coffee maker is part of the permanent collection of many prestigious American museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

• Grinding Size: coarse (between that for an electric brewer and that for a French press brewer)
• Quantity: between 7 and 10 g per 100 mL of water depending on the desired concentration
• Water: non-boiling (90 to 95 °C) water, filtered or mineral if possible
• Roasting: a light roast combined with a tangy profile will give the best results in this brewer
